Tour Details
- Hotel Collection: We will collect you from your Hotel or chosen location in Kanazawa in the morning (See departure times)
- Arrive Yamanaka Onsen: Our English-speaking driver will take you directly to Yamanaka Onsen Village. Drive through the remote villages into the Japanese countryside, away from the crowds and hustle of the city.
- Discover the Basho Residence Museum: Visit the traditional Ryokan where renowned Haiku poet Matsuo Basho stayed on his journey to the deep north of Japan. Here you learn why he proclaimed the town as one of Japan’s Three Best Onsens, while enjoying Green Tea with a view of the private garden.
- Cross the Ayatori Bridge into the Kakusenkei Gorge: Cross the purple coloured, unique S-shaped bridge designed by Ikebana artist Hiroshi Teshigahara. Rest for a moment to take in the magnificent views of Kakusenkei Gorge.
- Walk along the beautiful riverside: Walk along the beautiful riverside: The lush green scenery and the sound of the flowing water provide the perfect backdrop to unwind on the walk along the Daishoji river. Cross the river once again at the wooden Korogi Bridge.
- Browse the artisanal Lacquerware shops: The Kaga region is famous for its intricate artisanal crafts. In Yamanaka Onsen you can still find locally made lacquerware and pottery.
