Then, stroll through the charming Kazuemachi Chayagai, one of the city’s oldest geisha districts, and admire its beautiful teahouses and rich heritage. Finish in the enchanting Higashi Chaya District, exploring more historic teahouses and tasting delicious Wagashi (Japanese sweets). Here we will visit a famous gold leaf workshop and observe the craft of gold leaf production.

Thank you for a wonderful start to my day. It was an amazing tour and I particularly liked our stop at the Omicho market and the variety of food tastes chosen by our thoughtful guide Sachiko. This market was alive with people, scents and tastes - Sachiko pointed out local vegetables and fish along the way . The geisha district was also fascinating and our visit to the gold leaf artisan workshop was inspiring. Thank you to the Hughes family as well for making this experience so memorable.
